上影片是一位糖尿病的洗腎患者因為神智不清到醫院檢查，出院回來，似乎還是怪怪的，言行舉止，似清楚非清楚，而且還不停地書寫（不停的重複同樣的動作），說他是在記帳（原來的職業是開店的老闆）。
對於這奇怪的動作，趕緊請教神經科的學長，原來這是腦病變(encephalopathy)之後常見的刻板印象動作(stereotypical movement)。
患者的腦波和電腦斷層報告如下
The EEG suggested a severe diffuse encephalopathy. Epileptifom discharges were not observed in this study.
Brain CT: Brain atrophy, right corona radiata lacunar infarct.
出院診斷：
1. Severe diffuse encephalopathy
2. Nonconvulsive seizure
3. Pneumonia, right lower lung
4. End stage renal disease on regular hemodialysis
5. Type 2 Diabetic Mellitus with hypoglycemia episode
6. Hypertension
7. Chronic hepatitis C
8. Small infarcts in right basal ganglia
9. Brain atrophy
出院診斷：
1. Severe diffuse encephalopathy
